Juan Vidaurre, also known by his stage name Lumutu (Caracas, Venezuela; 29 de Marzo, 1997) is a Venezuelan singer, virtuoso jazz guitarist, pianist and symphony orchestra composer, with an undergraduate degree from The Juilliard School. His first musical experiences manifested through his parents, both celebrated concert pianists. In his youth, infatuated by the music of Ravel, J.S Bach, Chopin and Rachmaninoff, Lumutu studied classical piano until discovering the guitar, and through it, the world of Jazz.

Capable of encompassing and synthesizing together various genres, particularly jazz with salsa, psychedelic rock, and the symphony orchestra, Lumutu has always been a passionate pursuer of multiple musical traditions. His debuting album Poemas De Alhelí, in addition to demonstrating a sophisticated mastery of said elements, firmly illustrates his talent as a poet.

Lumutu has been recognized for his talent and vision by various institutions. Among them are The Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz International Guitar Competition (2019), The Keep An Eye International Jazz Competition in Amsterdam (2018), Litchfield’s Jazz Festival (2016) and Jazz At Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington Competition (2015). His extensive experience as a stage musician encompasses festivals and venues such as The San Jose Jazz Summer Festival, The Blue Note Jazz Club, Festival Des Traditions Du Monde, Dizzy’s Jazz Club, The Litchfield Jazz Festival, Smoke Jazz & Supper Club, The Newport Jazz Festival, The Skirball Cultural Center, The Sisters Oregon Folk Festival, Bimhuis Amsterdam, and many more.

Juan Vidaurre, también conocido como Lumutu (Caracas, Venezuela; 29 de Marzo, 1997) es un cantante, guitarrista de jazz virtuoso, pianista y compositor de orquesta sinfónica Venezolano licenciado por el prestigioso conservatorio The Juilliard School. Sus primeras experiencias musicales surgieron a través de sus padres, ambos concertistas de piano clásico. De niño, infatuado por la música de Ravel, J.S Bach, Chopin y Rachmaninoff, Lumutu estudió piano clásico hasta descubrir la guitarra, y a través de ella, el Jazz.

Capaz de abarcar y fusionar varios estilos, particularmente la salsa con el jazz, el rock psicodélico y la orquesta sinfónica, Lumutu siempre fue un amante de multiples tradiciones musicales. Su álbum debut Poemas De Alhelí, además de demostrar un dominio sofisticado de dichos elementos, ilustra con firmeza su talento como escritor y poeta.

Lumutu ha sido reconocido por su talento y visión por varias instituciones.
